Milo Yiannopoulos: Twitter Ban 'Turned Me Into A Household Name'
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Breitbart Editor Milo Yiannopoulos addressed being barred from Twitter and his time at the Democratic National Convention supporting Donald Trump in an interview with Dom Giordano on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT.
Yiannaopoulos claimed his ban from Twitter that resulted from comments he made about actress Leslie Jones has boosted his online profile.
"I published a very critical review of the new Ghosterbusters movie, which is garbage. Don't see it. Don't waste your hard earned money on this terrible feminist drivel. One of the stars, Leslie Jones, clearly deployed by the studio to play the victim on Twitter, to drive publicity, it worked by the way, I got into it with her a little bit. Then, of course, Twitter, which has been waiting to ban me for months, they had a Milo problem for quite a long time, they've been waiting to get rid of me for a very long, long time eventually said this is progressive America and disagreeing with black woman just isn't OK. Not liking something a black woman did is racist these days for the progressive left so you're off. You're gone. You're history. You're done. The problem is it's such a stupid strategic move on their part and so wonderful for me. They've turned me into a household name."
He said he has much more in common with supporters of Bernie Sanders who feel like they are not being listened to by leaders of the Democrats during the DNC.
"The Bernie people are great. The Bernie people are our people. I like Bernie people. It's the Hillary people that are the bad guys. Did you notice, this is so funny, there were ads on Craigslist, they needed 5,000 people to fill the hall because they didn't get enough people that want to sit and listen to Sigourney Weaver whimsing on stage. The people from Oregon were saying 'no more war' and the DNC turned the lights off in their section. It's so Orwellian down here. It's terrifying. Honestly, I have to tell you, it's like North Korea."
Yiannopoulos was also one of the lucky few to have his question answered by Donald Trump in an AMA on Reddit.
"The one question he did answer of mine was whether he's going to do something about H1B. H1B has become a way for Silicon Valley, for instance, to import cheap Indian developers and not have to worry about educating Americans properly. I asked him about that. He pointed people to something on his website that I've never seen before. He doesn't do a very good job, sometimes, of sharing his actual policy prescriptions with people in his stump speeches. On his website, there's quite a lot of well though out policy there. I didn't even know he had an H1B visa policy, but he does."
