Senator Mike Lee: Trump SCOTUS List Is Great, But He's Not Interested
Philadelphia (CBS) - Utah Senator Mike Lee says he is honored to be included on a list of potential Supreme Court nominees released this week by Donald Trump, but that he is content to remain in the Senate.
Lee, during an interview with Rich Zeoli on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, said that he is not interested switching branches of government.
"The Supreme Court is a really important institution and I really appreciate being considered. I'm honored and I'm flattered to be on that list. Right now, of course, I'm focused on my job in the Senate where I'm in a good position in my current job is to defend the Constitution by fighting against government overreach where ever I see it.
He also pointed out he is not the first member of his family the GOP nominee would consider placing on the court if elected in November.
"This has been the second in a couple of lists that have been released by the Trump campaign and my brother was on the first list. I'm on the second list. While my brother and I might disagree as to which of the two lists is better, they're both great lists and I'm flattered to be on this one."
