Mike Castle Discusses Defeat, Looks To The Future
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Mike Castle is speaking out, months after his first political loss in 40 years.
The upset defeat at the hands of Christine O'Donnell is the first loss ever in 40 years of elective politics for the former congressman. But Castle is not dwelling on his loss to the Tea Party conservative in the Delaware Senate primary. Instead, he prepares for the future and hopes to take part in the selection of the next Republican nominee for President.
He says there's one man to watch, "John Thune, the senator from South Dakota, is somebody who I think you're going to hear about in the future. He's charismatic; he's well spoken. There are some senators who are pretty good people. They may be one election removed from running, but there are some good people in Washington DC."

On the subject of Sarah Palin, Castle says, "I don't think she's constructive. I'm not sure she's destructive or not, but I don't think her policies are correct. I don't think she could ever get elected nationally and I think she knows that. I think frankly at this point it's money making for her as much as anything else. I'm not so sure she'll ever really run for office."
