Miguel And Wiz Khalifa "Adorn" GRAMMY Stage
Miguel and Wiz Khalifa were tapped to announce the GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Solo Performance. But before they cracked the envelope, the duo performed an abridged version of "Adorn."
The rapper and singer strutted down the aisle in striped blazers, though Khalifa wore no shirt under his.They offered an enthusiastic rendition of "Adorn" with Miguel hitting major high notes.
Miguel has been nominated for five GRAMMYs, including Song of the Year, which he lost to fun.'s "We Are Young;" Best R&B Performance, which was taken by Usher's "Climax;" and Urban Contemporary Album, which went to Frank Ocean for Channel Orange. He finally landed his first GRAMMY win for Best R&B Song with "Adorn."
Miguel recently explained his writing process and the inspiration.
"It is one of those powerful words that is barely used," he told Radio.com. "But this idea of bestowing your love upon someone, kind of laying it on them, I don't know, I just kind of like that."
"I went right to the keyboard when I got home and laid down the chords that I had been hearing in my head for the 6-hour flight," he said. "For some reason this particular night, this moment, playing the chords, these lines started coming."
