Mideast Peace Talks Could Be Headed to Next Level
There's word Mideast peace talks could soon get a jump start.
KYW's Jay Bushinsky reports direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority could start by the end of this month if guidelines proposed by the so-called Quartet -- the US, European Union, Russia and the UN -- are accepted by both sides.
The Palestinian Authority's consent is expected officially on Monday, but Israel has yet to state its position.
One of the controversial points is that the negotiations be based on the armistice line that existed from 1949 to 1967. The European Union agrees with President Obama that an Israeli-Palestinian agreement should be reached within two years.
