Michael Vick: 'Everything Is Coming Into Place Like A Puzzle'

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – For whatever he lacks in preseason action this year, Michael Vick is making up for with confidence.

He stood behind his "dynasty" comment, and he's still sure the Eagles are on the right track.

"Everything is coming into place like a puzzle," Vick told 94WIP's Michael Barkann and Ike Reee on Thursday. "I started working in February, and I wanted to just maximize my opportunity and I wanted my teammates to see me, putting in the hard work, and I wanted them to try imitate that and do the same thing, and I think they have. I just wanted us to maximize our opportunity this year."

Vick also knows that a repeat of last year is not acceptable to anyone, including him. "Keeping it real: we have to make the postseason this year. If we want to compete, you gotta get into the postseason and that requires the hard work and the effort, and taking it one game at a time, and pulling it out when you have to," he said.

The Eagles coaching staff hasn't seemed concerned about Vick's lack of play during the preseason. Jeremy Maclin also said he doesn't think it will be an issue. "I don't think [it's a problem]. I practice like I am playing in a game. I practice extremely hard and I think that's what keeping me in game rhythm.  I am upset that I didn't get a chance to go out and play in the preseason, and get a chance to see myself or gauge where I'm at right now, but going into it I just felt so good about everything. I just had some saw small mishaps happen, but it happens and now it counts and it's the regular season. I gotta go out and put forth the effort," he said.
