Michael Carter-Williams To Be Featured On 'Summer Dreams' TV Special
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Michael Carter-Williams is a solid favorite to win the NBA's Rookie of The Year award. If you were one of the fans watching him during the Sixers' Summer League games in Orlando, you'd have never guessed that would happen.
Carter-Williams will be featured along with Mavericks rookie guard Shane Larkin on 'Summer Dreams,' a television special that will focus on the NBA Summer League journeys of the two players, as well as other players, coaches and Lauren Holtkamp, who is attempting to become the NBA's second female referee.
"The NBA Summer League is an incredibly colorful event in which team owners, general managers, coaches, lottery picks and longshots all convene in Las Vegas to pursue their hoop dreams," said Executive Producer Mike Tollin in a release. "With unprecedented access, we'll witness hopes dashed and dreams coming true right in front of our eyes."
Carter-Williams was selected 11th overall by the Sixers in the 2013 NBA Draft out of Syracuse University. Considered a project by many coming out of college, he surprised the NBA world by leading the Sixers to a shocking opening night win over the defending champion Miami Heat. Aside from a couple of nagging injuries, Carter-Williams has never looked back, leading all NBA rookies in points per game, assists per game and rebounds per game.
Summer Dreams will air at 8pm EST on March 15th on CBS 3.
