Memorial Services Held For Eugene C. Petty, One Of First Black Police Chiefs In Delaware
NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. (CBS) -- Memorial services were held Thursday for one of the first Black police chiefs in Delaware. Family and friends gathered to celebrate the life of Chief Eugene C. Petty.
Petty was a 25-year veteran of the New Castle City Police Department, and he also served for the United States during World War II.
He died of natural causes. He was 93.
