Massive 32 Foot HDTV Installed At Xfinity Live
By Ian Bush
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Construction continues on the newest addition to the South Philadelphia sports complex. Xfinity Live opens in a month -- and an important element of the indoor experience was added today.
It's the big-screen centerpiece of the entertainment and food destination:
"This is going to dwarf your 32 inch television."
At 32 feet, it sure does. Comcast-Spectacor spokesman Ike Richman says they're hoisting it up panel by high-def panel:
"You will be able to come in and watch the Flyers, the Sixers, the Phillies, the Eagles, and any other sporting event going on in the world."
For now, you have to wear a hard hat instead of a baseball cap inside. But when doors officially open on March 30th, Richman says, you'll be greeted with a giant sports bar, four themed restaurants, and plenty else to eat and do:
"There's not really a place you can go and hang before an event, after an event, or even when there is an event, and now you can."
