Maryland Teen Admits To Helping To Recruit Others For Jihad, Including 'Jihad Jane'

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) -- A Maryland teenager has admitted he helped raise money and recruit individuals interested in supporting jihad in Europe, including a Montgomery County woman known as "Jihad Jane." Now, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams says that Mohammad Hassan Khalid pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists. The charge stem from his part, she says, in a conspiracy to support, recruit and coordinate members in their effort to wage jihad in and around Europe.
"From about 2008 through July of 2011, Mohammad Hassan Khalid, along with his co-defendant Ali Charaf Damache, conspired with Colleen LaRose, also known as 'Jihad Jane,' Jamie Ramirez and others to provide material support and resources, including logistical support, recruitment, financial support and identification documents to a conspiracy to kill overseas."
Arbittier Williams says a sentencing date has not yet been scheduled for Khalid. Jamie Ramirez and Colleen LaRose have also pleaded guilty.
