Many Phils Fans Happy With Victorino's Success

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Phillies are coming off a dreadful season, but many fans still found something to cheer about in the post-season. Former Phillie Shane Victorino played a pivotal role in Boston's run to the World Series title.
The "The flyin' Hawaiian" is now a post season hero in two cities. His three-run double in Game 6 of the World Series and grand slam against Detroit in the ALCS ensured Victorino a place in Red Sox lore forever.
It was a performance reminiscent of 2008. Some might be envious to see a former fan favorite in Philly do well in another city, but not the folks who spoke to KYW Newsradio:
"Good for him, he did a great job and really had a good series."
"Oh, I'm definitely rooting for him, he was a clutch player and clutch player there. He plays hard. He shows emotion.
"Fans love him. People connect with him. Fans love him, I'm glad he's doing well."
Victorino's legacy lives on in Philadelphia with a charitable foundation and a renovated boys and girls club in Nicetown.
