Man Steals Cell Phone In Front Of Police Officer In Wilmington
WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A Wilmington man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly committed a robbery in front of a passing Wilmington police officer.
27-year-old Emanuel Carr was charged with robbery and resisting arrest following Sunday's incident that occurred at about 5:35 p.m at 101 N. French Street.
Police say an officer was driving in the area of W. 2nd and N. French Streets when he saw a man chasing Carr across the street.
The officer pursued Carr for several blocks, taking him into custody near W. 4th and N. Market Streets.
The 38-year-old victim told police he was standing at the bus station talking on his cell phone when Carr allegedly snatched the phone from him.
The officer found that Carr had the victim's cell phone in his possession.
