Man Shot, Killed In Parking Dispute In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - An apparent fight over parking lead to a deadly shooting in West Philadelphia early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened on the 100 block of North Dewey Street just before 3 a.m. It occurred after two men, both armed with a gun, were arguing over a parking spot.
A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The man who survived claimed he was using his gun in self-defense.
CBS3 Eyewitness News obtained exclusive cell phone video of the frantic moments after the shooting (seen in the video above) of the 25-year-old survivor claiming his innocence to officers.
"So my car was parked in the middle of the street, the guy pulled up real strong, he backed up and gave the lady the food, so then he came back or whatever and he almost hit my car," the man said in the video.
The man could be heard telling police he works as a private security guard who was working at the time, but stopped by the block to pick up his sister from a party. That's when he claimed the other man confronted him for double parking.
"He acted like he was going to shoot me, so I went to grab his gun. When I went to grab his gun, he shot me in my finger, so I pulled out my gun and shot him."
Police say preliminary they believe both men opened fire, but are investigating who fired first.
The names of both men involved have not yet been released and no criminal charges have been filed.
