Man Shot As His Children Watch In Frankford Home Invasion

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two young children witnessed their father getting shot during a home invasion and robbery in Frankford early Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at about 4 a.m. at the Whitehall Apartments in the 1900 block of Filmore Place.
According to investigators, two armed masked gunmen kicked in the door of an apartment and announced a robbery.
Authorities say the suspects shot a 39-year-old man in the back and tied up a 51-year-old man.
The suspects then ransacked the home and stole a large amount of cash before running from the apartment.
Two children of the 39-year-old man, ages eight and 12, witnessed the break-in and shooting. They were not hurt.
The 39-year-old man was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. During the incident, the 51-year-old victim suffered a series of seizures. He is listed in stable condition.
One suspect had a handgun, the other had a shotgun. Both remain at large.
