PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for a man who unloaded gunfire on a Crescentville bar early Monday morning, injuring two people.
The shooting happened at Candela's Bar and Restaurant near Adams Avenue around 3:45 a.m.
Authorities say a man walked up to the entrance, but was told by a security guard that the bar was closed.
Police say the suspect reacted violently.
"The male then took a crate, threw it at the window smashing the window, left the area. A few minutes later, he returned," said Philadelphia Police Captain Michael Gormley.
He came back with a vengeance, this time pointing a gun and firing off several rounds on the front of Candela's.
"When he did that, he struck a security guard in the face, he was grazed," said Captain Gormley. "And a patron in the bar, she suffered an injury to her face also. We are still trying to determine whether that injury was the result of a bullet fragment or glass."
Both victims were taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where they were last listed in stable condition.
The suspect remains on the loose.
