Man Now Facing Charges For Germantown Firework Explosion
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Nearly a week after a firecracker exploded inside a Germantown home, the homeowner has been arrested and is facing charges.
On May 7 around 4 a.m., police were called to the home on the 100 block of W. Queen Lane near Greene Street in Germantown (see previous story).
A 54-year-old man was transported to the hospital in stable condition after an M-80 firework reportedly exploded in his right hand.
On May 13, officials announced Douglas Ferrin is now facing charges of Mass Destruction, Risking Catastrophe, REAP, PIC and Failure to Prevent Catastrophe in relation to the incident.
Ferrin was arraigned with bail set at $500,000 and his next court date is scheduled for May 29.
