Man In Custody After Armed Standoff Outside Cherry Hill School

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (AP) -- Police say they found another gun and ammunition at the home of an armed man accused of holding officers at bay outside a school in Camden County.

Rhett Ingram is being held on $75,000 bail and is undergoing a mental health evaluation following his arrest in Cherry Hill Tuesday.

Police say the 50-year-old ran on the grounds of the Joyce Kilmer Elementary School with a loaded gun after the school was closed. Investigators say Rhett pointed the gun at on-scene police officers, as well as himself. A 25-minute standoff ensued until Ingram surrendered.

Rhett, of Forge Lane in Cherry Hill, has been charged with possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault.
