Deadly Police-Involved Shooting In Southwest Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man was killed in a police-involved shooting in Southwest Philadelphia Thursday night.
The incident happened at about 9 p.m. on the 2200 block of South 77th Street.
Philadelphia Police say as officers attempted to stop a man, the man fled on foot and allegedly pulled out a gun.
Authorities say the officers fired their weapons and shot the man.
Police transported the man to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was later pronounced dead.
No police officers were injured during the incident.
Police say the officers involved will be placed on administrative duty as Internal Affairs investigates.
