Bucks County Man Gets 8-25 Years In Rt. 611 Crash That Killed Girl

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A Bucks County man who caused a deadly crash on the Route 611 bypass in Doylestown last Thanksgiving Eve will spend at least eight years behind bars after being found guilty in June of third-degree murder (see previous story).
Prosecutors say Drew Bodden was driving more than 130 miles an hour in his Mustang Cobra when he slammed into the back of Suzanne Berry's SUV, critically injuring Berry and killing her nine-year-old granddaughter, Holly Huynh.
The 38-year-old Plumstead man was sentenced to eight to 25 years in state prison.
Prosecutor Bob James says Bodden made glaring comments in a pre-sentencing investigation.
"When they asked why were driving so fast, his response to the investigators was, 'When you have a car like mine, you just have to let it out to have some fun, regardless of the risk.' "
In court, Berry's husband talked about how the crash changed their lives, and Holly's mother spoke about losing her only child.
Bodden apologized to the family, conceding he made a grave mistake.
