Man Found Murdered Inside North Philadelphia Boarding House

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are investigating a homicide overnight in North Philadelphia.
Around 1:20 Tuesday morning, police received a radio call for shots fired in the 2400 block of Sharswood Street.
Officers found a 46-year-old man lying dead on the floor of a bedroom on the third floor of a building, which they described as a type of boarding house.
Police believe the victim lived there.
"It doesn't appear there were signs of forced entry. It's hard to tell at this point because the house itself is in pretty bad shape," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Police do have several witnesses who were inside the private residence at the time the victim was killed. They were brought to police headquarters where they were questioned.
Police do not have a motive yet, and there is no word on a suspect or suspects.
