Man Fatally Shot By Police In North Philadelphia After Brandishing Weapon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man who was shot by police after brandishing a weapon has reportedly died.
Around 11:30 p.m., police were called to 10th and Tioga after reports of a man with a gun. Upon arrival, they encountered the suspect, who had a gun in his waistband. After police asked the suspect to remove his weapon, he pointed it at the officers, who then opened fire, hitting the suspect several times in the chest.
The suspect was transported to Temple University Hospital in extremely critical condition, where he later died.
There were no injuries to police, and an investigation is ongoing.
