Man Drowns During July 4th Swim At Jersey Shore
MANTOLOKING, N.J. (CBS) — Officials says a man swimming with friends at the Jersey Shore on Independence Day suddenly disappeared, and died after he was found a little while later.
This began just after 2:30 p.m. in Mantoloking.
The Ocean County prosecutor's office says the 22-year-old victim from New York was located by lifeguards unresponsive about 30 minutes after disappearing from his friend's sight.
According to officials, he was brought to the shore and CPR was initiated. The victim was later taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
No further details are available at this time as an investigation continues.
