Man Critically Injured In Northeast Philadelphia House Fire
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man is in critical condition after being injured in an early morning house fire in Northeast Philadelphia.
The fire started at about 8 a.m. Monday inside a home in the 9200 block of Woodenbridge Road.
When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the home.
According to fire officials, a 58-year-old man was rushed to Aria Health's Torresdale Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and he had burns to approximately 80-percent of his body. He is listed in critical condition.
The fire was placed under control in about 20 minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
