Man Charged With DUI After Car Plows Into House In Delaware
NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Newark Police have charged a man with driving under the influence of alcohol and other traffic offenses after a high-speed chase ended with a car crashing into an occupied home.
Twenty-four-year-old Patrick Brogan of Newark is being held on $23,600 cash bail.
Police say Brogan was clocked traveling 96 miles an hour Thursday on Papermill Road. Officers pursued the vehicle, but lost sight of it.
Police found the vehicle had run off the road. Officers say it hit a fence and flower bed before striking a curb and embankment and going airborne. Authorities say the car then traveled 23 feet and hit the sunroom of a house.
