Man Charged With Burglarizing Same Church 3 Times
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — Delaware State Police have arrested a man they say burglarized the same church three times in two weeks.
Fifty-two-year-old Michael McGowan of Pottstown, Pa., was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts each of burglary and theft. He is being held on $7,500 secured bail.
Troopers went to the Church of the Holy Child in Wilmington early Tuesday for an alarm and found the church's doors had been pried open. Several collection boxes were broken into and cash was stolen.
Officers reviewing surveillance video identified McGowan as a suspect and he was arrested while walking on Route 202.
Authorities say McGowan also broke into the church on June 25 and Monday.
