Man Attacked In Front Of Children In West Philadelphia Home Invasion

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It was a normal Sunday night for Narom Uon, a cook at the Salt & Pepper Deli on South 47th Street. He and a coworker closed it up around 1:00 a.m. Monday and walked down the street towards home.
When they got to their doors two young men were hiding in corners.
"When I got here they [had] already came out with a machete," said Uon. He said another man came out of a basement entry way. The three men were wearing dark clothing, masks, and had a gun along with the machete.
Uon said one of the men pointed a gun at his head, "the other guy handcuffed me." Uon and his coworker remained on their knees handcuffed as the men demanded a key to the apartment.
It was Uon's 10-year-old daughter who opened the door. She and her 13-year-old sister were told to sit in the living as the three men rifled through their apartment.
Uon said his Macbook and $800 in cash were taken, as the robbers fled.
His wrists still have marks from the handcuffs. "I've never been handcuffed before and I've never been robbed," said Uon.
Police Lieutenant John Walker believes the culprits likely knew the store and the area.
"Our concern is that they may have known that pay day was that night at Salt & Pepper Deli and just followed these people home," said Lt. Walker.
Uon is now on edge, considering they know where he works and lives. "I could not sleep the whole night," said Uon, "but I have to go back to work."
The Deli does have surveillance cameras which police will look through to see if anything suspicious was recorded over the last few days. They'll also check neighborhood surveillance video.
"We're hopeful one camera in this area may have picked up something," said Lt. Walker.
