CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- A man attending a Toby Keith concert at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden Saturday was arrested following a bias incident, according to police.
Police say 33-year-old Darren T. Walp, of Ridley Park, Pa., climbed the fence of a residential complex near the concert venue around 6:30 p.m. and reportedly began waving a confederate flag and shouting racial slurs at residents.
When he tried to escape back into the concert crowd, authorities say he was arrested and taken into custody by a Camden County Police officer who was working the event.
"We have zero tolerance for such bias acts and will seek the strongest prosecution and jail sentence possible," Camden County Police Department Chief J. Scott Thomson said. "Furthermore, I will ask the United States Attorney's Office to review for the possibility of a federal prosecution."
Walp is charged with harassment, disorderly persons and bias intimidation, fourth degree; and criminal trespassing, fourth degree. His bail was set at $5,000 cash.
