Malls, Shoppers Prepare For Black Friday Rush
LANGHORNE, Pa. (CBS) - Savvy shoppers are mapping out their strategy for nailing down those bargains as suburban malls are busy making preparations for the large crowds that are expected on Black Friday.
Suburban malls will be opening their doors Friday morning at different times but it's a pretty safe bet that many of the stores in the malls will be open for business long before the sun comes up and some even plan to open at midnight.
At the Oxford Valley Mall in Bucks County, spokesman Jim Malervy says they will use Facebook and Twitter heavily to get cash registers ringing and help shoppers save money.
"We'll be shooting out deals from Disney, through New York and Company, through Sears, through Macy's," he says. "Really trying to help engage and inform our customers about the deals going on in each store."
He says it's all about the customer and they even had a deal that allowed customers to pay for premium parking spaces and access to a VIP lounge where they can get drinks and snacks throughout the day.
