Made Up Trade: Sixers Get Bennett In Three-Team Love, Wiggins Deal

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- On the heels of a new report on Monday, which stated that the Philadelphia 76ers could acquire Anthony Bennett from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team deal where Kevin Love goes to the Cavs and Andrew Wiggins lands in Minnesota, we speculate the potential trade.

Ethan Giles, our "Made Up Trade" guru, thinks he's nailed it.

*Note the trade cannot be made until August 23rd, 30 days after Wiggins' signed his rookie deal.

Sixers get:

Anthony Bennet from CLE (3 years, $5.6 million)

Kevin Martin from MIN (3 years, $6.8 million)

J.J. Barea from MIN (1 year, $4.5 million)

Alexey Shved from MIN (1 year, $3.3 million)

Cavs first-round pick (from Memphis)

Cavs get:

Kevin Love from MIN (2 years, $15.7 million)

T-Wolves get:

Thaddeus Young from PHI (2 years, $9.4 million)

Andrew Wiggins from CLE (4 years, rookie deal)

John Lucas III from CLE (1 year, $1.6 million)

Erik Murphy from CLE (1 year, $816,500)

Cavaliers first-round pick

Cavaliers first-round pick (from Miami)

Why the Sixers do it:

The Sixers get rid of Young's salary and save cap space by acquiring two expiring contracts, and two cheaper options that can help the team. While Martin is 31, his cap hit is much smaller than Young's. The Sixers also snag the underachieving 2013 first-overall draft pick in 21-year-old, Anthony Bennett and a 2015 first-round pick.

Why the Cavs do it:

The Cavs get Love, one of the NBA's best players, and instantly become the favorite to win the NBA Title with LeBron James, 29, Kyrie Irving, 22, and Love, 25.

Why the T-Wolves do it:

The T-Wolves will all but certainly lose Love after this season, as he has a player option for the 2015-16 season. By trading him now, they save money and acquire the talented 2014 first-overall pick in Wiggins, a solid contributor in Young, and two additional 2015 first-round picks from the Cavs.
