Lucy's Hat Shop In Old City Reaches Out To Another Lucy
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A benefit for Lucy the Margate elephant takes place next month and the host is the author of a guide book to the Jersey Shore.
Jen Miller, author of "The Jersey Shore: Atlantic City to Cape May" is launching her book with a fundraiser for her favorite Jersey shore attraction.
"Lucys for Lucy is a fundraiser that I am doing in conjunction with Lucy's Hat Shop in Philadelphia that benefits Lucy the Elephant that is a 60 foot elephant down in Margate and probably what I would call the queen of the Jersey Shor," says Miller.
Miller says the event is free to attend, but for $25 dollars you get a signed copy of her book and a drink, with all proceeds helping to restore the giant elephant
"In October of 2009, Lucy's tail was broken. Now, she's a really old elephant and she had a $25,000 insurance deductible so it's very expensive to replace and repair that kind of tail."
The fundraiser for Lucy the Margate elephant takes place at Lucy's Hat Shop in Philadelphia on June 8th from 5-8 p.m.
