Lower Unemployment Numbers Motivate Both Campaigns
By Special Contributor Larry Kane
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Friday's surprising jobs report quickly became the talk of the campaign trail.
President Obama says the fact that the unemployment rate is below eight percent for the first time in four years shows that the economy is "moving forward again."
But Republican challenger Mitt Romney counters that 7.8 percent unemployment is "not what a real recovery looks like."
The jobs numbers top off a big week in the race.
It has been a year of twists and turns. His campaign bleeding badly, Mitt Romney scores a momentum victory in debate #1.
The President, low key during the debate, went defiantly on the offensive post debate.
Romney did a turnaround on his 47 percent controversy something the President never mentioned in the debate. Republican insiders that we talk to in this area are ecstatic.
Suburban County Democratic leaders think the appearance of a any comeback by Romney will energize their base.
