Logan, Eagles Look To Finish Up Strong Sunday Against Giants

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Safe to say the month of December hasn't gone according to plan for the Eagles.
On Thanksgiving night, the Eagles beat the Cowboys 33-10 down in Texas to improve to 9-3 on the season. They were alone in first place in the NFC East and a playoff berth seemed assured with a first-round bye a real possibility.
Since then? Three straight losses, punctuated by this past Saturday's 27-24 loss on the road to Washington. That has dropped the Eagles to 9-6 and left them out of the playoffs entirely.

"It's been pretty frustrating," Eagles defensive lineman Bennie Logan tells KYW Newsradio. "Especially when you put so much work in to be successful and win games and you come out the wrong end the past three games, it really sucks. Especially, when you go into the season with a plan and expectation to get further than we did last year. Then to see we pretty much gave it away the past three weeks, is a heart breaker."
Logan spoke to KYW Newsradio earlier this week after handing out presents to children at Gilbert Spruance Elementary School in the city.
While he is disappointed in how the season has played out, Logan says there is still work to do.
"Just got to continue to grow from it and build from it," Logan says. "Can't let it get to you. So now got to go the Giants and take care of business. We're not playing for any playoff spots or anything like that. But you've still got to play for pride and it's a division game so you can't let the Redskins loss linger, you've got to take care of business."
The Eagles defense probably played their best game of the season in their first meeting with the Giants, shutting out New York 27-0 at the Linc on October 12th.
"We just played together and played within the calls of the defense," Logan says of their performance that night. "Everybody having their responsibility and playing their techniques and things like that. Same thing when we play them this time, everybody's got to be disciplined in the play calling and just be focused. Can't let those little things get to you, to get you out of the game. Gotta stay focused on this game because the Giants are a really good team as you've seen the last few weeks."
The Giants have won three straight heading into Sunday. Their offense is much more explosive then it was when the Eagles first met them back in mid-October and that is because of one man: Odell Beckham Jr. The rookie wide receiver played in that first game, catching two passes for 28 yards, but he was still working his way into form after a hamstring injury which cost him the season's first four games. He's been unstoppable since. Beckham has caught 79 passes for 1,120 yards and 11 touchdowns in just 11 games this season. Logan is very familiar with his college teammate.
"I mean the guy he's fast, he can catch the ball, he can run after the catch," Logan says. "He's just a great athlete all around and he's a good route-runner. I was fortunate enough to play with him at LSU, so I know the potential that he has."
The Eagles and the Giants kickoff at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
