Locally Produced CD Nabs A Grammy Nomination
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Four local producers are up for a Grammy for a CD encouraging children to make healthy food choices.
The children's CD entitled Health Food For Thought: Good Enough to Eat was produced in Warminster, Bucks County.
Producer and writer, Steven Pullara says it was nominated in the category of best spoken word for children, "When it's best spoken word album for children it means that it has 51% poetry or stories on it and the rest can be music."
He says the 60 tracks are produced for fun on a child's level.
"There's a story I wrote called 'Wendell Was a Bug.' It's all about a bug whose in the kitchen nipping at the tomatoes on the windowsill. He likes vegetables. Kids can relate to that in the eyes of a bug."
Some of the well-known artists in the project include Trout Fishing in America, Julian Lennon, Moby and Russel Simmons. The award will be announced next month.
