Local Woman Uses Facebook To Help Find Fido A Good Home
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Gloucester Township woman has created a Facebook page dedicated to finding homes for unwanted animals.
The Facebook page is called the TAILS Network, TAILS stands for Transforming An Innocent Life by Sharing.
Twenty-year-old Marissa Ionno of Blackwood started it in July.
"People can come there share their posts; share their pictures and hopefully find an animal - dogs - a home".
She posts and cross posts. At least three dogs that she knows of found new homes.
"I'm so excited about it because these are dogs, if these people didn't see the post on the page, these dogs would have been euthanized. So that's three less dogs that were put down this year and that's a big deal because they got a second chance."
The third year pre-med student says she finds time to answers all questions from those on the Tails Network and it's worth every minute.
"I want people to realize that, you know, dog and cats don't have to be really cute and fuzzy. They can be hairless; they can have arthritis. And they can still give you just as much love as a puppy would and that's what important for people to realize."
