Local Sculptors Plan To Put Valentine's Day On Ice
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Instead of warming up with your significant other, you can put your Valentine's Day on ice this weekend. That is exactly what will be taking place in Chestnut Hill on Saturday.
World famous artist, Peter Slavin, is helping to make a special celebration of Valentine's Day from his studio in Brewerytown.
Cupid is looking "cooler," than ever. You can celebrate the fires of love through ice sculpting on Saturday in Chestnut Hill where the Main Street will be filled with frozen sculptures to melt the hearts of families for Valentine's Day.
"We're very excited to be partnering with Peter Slavin, and his team at Fear No Ice, for Valentine's on Ice, where we will have over 20 sculptures up and down Germantown Avenue," said Chestnut Hill Business District Executive Director Martha Sharkey.
Slavin and his team will be responsible for making the sculptures that will be "chilling," on the avenue.
"We take water, turn it into ice and then we turn it into art," Slavin explained. The cold this weekend won't slow down Slavin's plans which include several amazing ice sculptures like the iconic "LOVE," sign sculpted in ice.
