NEW HOPE, Pa. (CBS) - People who live in the Delaware Valley know about the charm of the Bucks County river town of New Hope. Now it's getting some national publicity that local officials hope will generate tourism and stimulate the economy.
The Huffington Post has selected New Hope as one of its Top 10 small cities and towns for LGBT travelers.
The article says the town caters to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community with something for everybody from the wine connoisseur to savvy shoppers to the kid at heart.
Visit Bucks County Executive Director Jerry Lepping calls it a great town where people just get out and have fun.
"They mix. It's not a drive through too much, everybody walks all around town. It's a very unique experience," says Lepping.
He also singled out the organization, New Hope Celebrates, which sponsors the Gay Pride Parade and celebration there every May.
Other towns and cities that made the list include Ann Arbor, Michigan, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Ithaca, New York.
