Local Parishioners Celebrate First Sunday With New Pope

HORSHAM, Pa. (CBS) - It's a new dawn for the Catholic Church and as the sun rose in Horsham, parishioners made their way into St. Catherine of Siena.
It's the first Sunday morning mass, with a new leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis.
Father Chris Walsh, who was holding 7 o'clock Mass at St. Catherine of Siena, spoke highly of Pope Francis to the congregation.
So far the new leader is known for being humble and friendly. He's also recognized for his want to give back.
Pope Francis told thousands of journalists Saturday how he picked his name. He said it's after Francis of Assisi, who worked for peace and helped the poor.
"Prior to Wednesday I never heard the man's name, I don't think I ever saw his picture," said Father Walsh, "and yet already there's this great affinity towards him, his humility, the sense that he's one of us."
Every parishioner we talked with said they're looking forward to this next chapter for the Catholic Church.
"He's pretty impressive. It's a change that we've needed for a long time," said parishioner Rob Kistler.
Parishioner Elizabeth Clash said, "he seems to be a man of the people, very humble man and going forward that's a good thing for the church."
