Local Non-Profit Hosting Fundraiser To Raise Money For Sexually Abused Children
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Philadelphia non-profit organization helping children who have been sexually abused is holding its annual Bear Affair fundraiser.
"Bear Affair" is a cocktail party and silent auction to raise money for the work the Philadelphia Children's Alliance does with sexually abused children.
Chris Kirchner is the Executive Director of the organization. She says tickets are still available.
"It's our biggest fundraiser of the year, so a lot rides on its success. We hope to raise about $160,000 and, if we do, it will really have a very positive impact on our ability to deliver services over the coming year," says Kirchner.
Guests are asked to bring teddy bears which will be given to children throughout the year.
Bear Affair is scheduled for Thursday evening, May 2nd at the Crystal Tearoom in Center City.
