Local Malls Packed As Time For Christmas Shopping Is Running Out
By Dan Wing
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (CBS) - With Christmas fast approaching, shoppers were out in large numbers at the area malls Sunday looking to find some last-minute gifts.
Pulling in to the parking lot of the Cherry Hill Mall, it was easy to tell that if you were out for some last-minute shopping, you weren't alone. The traffic inside the mall was bustling.
Some people were able to find just what they were looking for.
"I was really surprised, I walked right in and got what I needed. Everything was lined up nice and neat."
Others weren't having as much luck.
"There's a lot of picked over stores," this shopper said. "We had to end up getting gift cards. Gift cards are probably the best choice if you can't find sizes and everything else if you can't make up your mind."
While some people were out deadline shopping thanks to procrastination, others, like this shopper, had a legit reason.
"I work seven days a week, and I'm just starting my Christmas shopping."
Most shoppers said they wouldn't mind coming back out on Christmas Eve if necessary.
