Local Foundation Will Pay For Cost-Cutting Study at Philadelphia Schools
By Mike DeNardo
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The William Penn Foundation has announced it will foot the bill for a $1.4-million consulting contract to help the School District of Philadelphia streamline its operations.
The district last week hired the Boston Consulting Group to help restructure operations as it works to close a $71-million budget hole this fiscal year, and a $269-million dollar gap next year (see related story).
The William Penn Foundation says it will also help the district to find other private donors to aid in the restructuring effort.
