Local Developer Named To Bucks Commissioners

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (CBS) - Bucks County has a new commissioner to fill the seat on the board left vacant by Jim Cawley, who was sworn in last week as Pennsylvania's lieutenant governor.

After a closed-door session that lasted less than an hour, Bucks County president judge Susan Scott revealed that the thirteen judges had selected Bedminster, Pa. businessman Robert Loughery as the new commissioner.

His name was one of three given to the judges by the Republican Party for consideration. Loughery, 41, co-founded the real estate development firm Keystone Redevelopment Group and hopes to utilize his expertise in that area.

"Having worked for economic development agencies in this county, I think that that's going to put me in a strong position to really help find ways to help grow our economy," he told KYW Newsradio today.

Loughery says he's humbled and honored and looking forward to the opportunity to serve the residents of his county.

Cawley's term has about a year left on it, and Loughery says he plans to seek the party's endorsement for the seat in this year's election.
