Romney Bus Tour Travels Through Quakertown

QUAKERTOWN, P.A. (CBS) - Governor Mitt Romney's five-day, six-state "Every Town Counts" bus tour traveled across Pennsylvania on Saturday.
One stop was in Bucks County, where hundreds of people waited for Romney to show up at a local Wawa, only to find out Romney instead went to a different Wawa on Route 309.
Hundreds of Romney's supporters waited for the former Massachusetts Governor at a Wawa on John Fries Highway in Quakertown. Many supporters said they were disappointed Romney was a no show.
"I wish he had come here," Bill Harper of Holland, Pa. said. "There were protestors who were definitely against him and he may have been able to sway some of his thoughts over to his side."
When asked why he decided to move his bus tour to a different Wawa, Romney referred to a statement former Governor Ed Rendell made last October, when he told an online newspaper that if the election were held today, Romney would win Pennsylvania.
"Why are we at this Wawa instead of the other one? I understand I have a surrogate there already, so we decided to come to a different place," Romney said. "The surrogate is former Governor Rendell who said I could win Pennsylvania."
Rendell stood alongside former congressman Patrick Murphy and other Democrats from a vacant lot near the John Fries Highway Wawa where they criticized Romney.
"Governor Romney, why are Republicans misleading the public about spending, about taxes, about healthcare?" Rendell said.
Romney stayed at the Wawa on Route 309 in Quakertown for about 15 minutes before heading to Cornwall, Pa.
