PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia-born comedian Kevin Hart will host the Philly 4th of July Jam Thursday night.
The local comedian says he's at the top of his game. He has his own show, and a new movie, titled, "Let Me Explain".
And tonight, actor and comedian Kevin Hart of North Philadelphia is hosting Welcome America's 4th of July Jam, for the first time.
"The love I have for my city is unreal. I'm excited to friends and family," said Kevin Hart.
Eyewitness News caught up with Hart during his interview with Patty Jackson from WDAS.
Hart says he's not sure what to expect at tonight's festival, but he did give us a taste of what you can expect.
The funny man from Philly has a serious side. He says his 8-year-old daughter and his 5-year-old son keep him grounded, along with the friends he surrounds himself with, who were there before the fame.
"I think when you keep same circle it would be hard for you to change," said Hart. "When you change your circle and bring different people in it, you don't know those people. You start to adapt to those people's personalities. If you know them you will not move or budge. That's me. Kept the same group around me for ten years."
