Linwood, N.J. Woman Playing Tennis Has Car Stolen, Home Burglarized
EGG HARBOR Twp., N.J., (CBS) – Police are looking for a man they say stole a Linwood woman's car while she was playing tennis then burglarized her home on Wednesday.
Egg Harbor Township Police responded at about 11 a.m. to the Howard Johnson's Hotel on the Black Horse Pike in the West Atlantic City section of the township.
The 64-year-old victim told police she was playing tennis at the hotel when she saw a man near her purse.
When she was finished playing, she discovered her keys missing from her purse and her 2006 Lexus RX400H sport utility vehicle missing from the parking lot.
While Egg Harbor Township officers were handling the report of her stolen vehicle, a burglary and theft of the victim's home was being reported to the Linwood Police Department.
Police say a large amount of cash and jewelry were taken during the burglary.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5'09", with medium length dark curly hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and dark jeans.
The victim's vehicle has a New Jersey organ donor tag DL4724.
