Linc' Is Ready To Go
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Eagles management says Lincoln Financial Field is ready to go for Tuesday night's contest between the birds and the Vikings. But it took a herculean effort to get the stadium complex prepared for the players and the fans.
Don Smolenski, chief operating officer for the Philadelphia Eagles, says the field was covered with a tarp before the storm started. That tarp was cleared of all the snow and removed Tuesday and the sun is drying the field.
Smolenski says a contractor brought in hundreds of workers Monday to begin removing snow from the seats, the aisles, ramps, concourses and sidewalks.
"We had about 600 workers through the course of the day yesterday. And it really took about 12 hours. And we started in the lower bowl, and worked our way around the lower bowl, moved our way up to the mid-level, the club level. And, then we finished with the upper deck last night at around 9 o'clock. So, everything was clear. We sent everybody home. We brought a small crew back today to just kind of do some clean up and touch up a little."
And as for the dozen or so parking lots in the stadium area, they're been cleared down to the blacktop and are ready as well.
