Light Snow For The Morning Commute, A Winter Weather Advisory For Part Of Our Area

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The weather pattern remains active as another disturbance will move through just in time for the morning commute. Expect light snow to develop before daybreak and end mid-late morning on Wednesday. Around 1" is expected around Philadelphia, with 1-2" possible in Delaware and Southern NJ. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Delaware and far southern NJ from 4am through 1pm Wednesday. The snow may create reduced visibility for a brief period during the morning drive, as a brief burst of snow moves across the region (around 10am in Philadelphia). Temperatures will be below freezing so slippery roads are expected with slower travel.
The snow will clear the coast around noon. Wednesday afternoon will be sunny and blustery!
An arctic air mass will settle into the mid-Atlantic over the next few days. High temperatures will be in the 20s and 30s and lows in the teens and 20s through the weekend. There are signs that the colder air retreats a bit next week but the weather pattern remains active.
There is growing confidence of a storm Sunday into Monday. However, there is a lot of "flip flopping" with our computer guidance as to the type of precipitation. Tuesday evening, it looked like the precipitation would start Sunday as rain, now the latest American Model (00Z GFS) is colder, suggesting a start as snow Sunday. There are many more "model runs", to go and much could change as we get closer to the weekend.
