Life Without Lee Begins Tonight For Drexel

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Drexel Dragons will play their final home game of the season tonight as they welcome rival Delaware to the DAC.
Drexel has been hammered by injuries all season long but over the weekend they were dealt their cruelest blow as junior guard Damion Lee, the fourth leading scorer in the nation, suffered a hand fracture in Saturday's overtime loss at Northeastern. He will miss the rest of the season.
"Its been a tough year in that respect anyway with all the injuries," Drexel head coach Bruiser Flint tells KYW Newsradio. "Got to keep playing. The season's not over yet. Guys got to be ready to play. Guys have got to be able to step up and do certain things we're asking them to do with Dam being out. They're not going to throw you a pity party. Still got some games left, so guys have got to play. We want to continue our season, everybody has to step up in terms of their responsibility."

Lee was having a magnificent season, averaging 21.4 points and 6.1 rebounds a game. He shot 44% from the field, 39% from three and 88% from the free throw line. His 578 points this season represent the eighth highest single-season total in Drexel history. Flint talks about where Lee's shots will go now.
"He only averaged about 15 shots a game (14.4)," Flint says. "So he was scoring a lot of points without taking a lot of shots. That's the one thing that he did pretty much the entire season. But it'll be spread out throughout the entire team so guys just have to pick it up. Not one guy is just going to get all the shots."
Drexel is 10-17 this season and 8-8 in the CAA. One of their wins came against the Blue Hens back on January 17th in Newark, Dragons grabbing a 66-62 decision. Delaware is 8-19 this season and 7-9 in the league.
"This is the rivalry game," Flint says. "Drexel/Delaware is the big rivalry in the league. So it doesn't matter what the records are or anything like that. Everybody's going to go out there and play their hardest. Its always a grind, a fist fight. So it's going to be a tough game."
Drexel and Delaware will tip-off tonight at 7:00pm.
