Let The Cameras Roll As The Eagles Arrive

Philadelphia, PA (CBS) —The stampede worked to and fro. Cameramen and photographers reacted to fans holding up signs, any player coming in, buses pulling up to the NovaCare Complex, anything they could shoot, point a camera toward or thrust-out mics in search of soundbites. Reporters and beat writers gathered among themselves to divvy up assignments.
It's the first day of the Eagles training camp—the first one ever at the NovaCare Complex, and the glut of media was out in full force.
The ongoing debates waged on as to who would be the starting quarterback, between Michael Vick, Nick Foles and rookie Matt Barkley, with no real answers.
But after years of routine up at Lehigh under previous coach Andy Reid, this new training camp under new coach Chip Kelly had a number of media scratching their heads wondering exactly how this whole thing was going to work.
It's been called an exciting time for the Eagles. But the large media contingent may lean more toward a very curious time with the Eagles.
It's team that enters the season with more questions than they've ever had in more than a decade. Where once fans had a general idea of what to expect from Reid, who the starters would be, how the offense would work, what defensive scheme will be used, nothing is really known about this team.
About the only certainty is that Kelly is calling the shots and no one really knows what else can happen.
As the rookies piled out of a chartered bus in front of the complex, the first day of the "Chip Kelly Era" could be described best as the stand-around-and-wait day.
Consequently, a favorite pastime was watching the cavalcade of cameramen jostling for position with one another, and photographers trying to gather as many morsels as they could for "The First Day of the Chip Kelly Era."
As for answers, they will come in time.
