LeSean McCoy: 'We Can Do Better With The Decisions We Make'
By Steve Beck
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- In an exclusive interview with Eyewitness News, Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro running LeSean McCoy talked about the recent alarming off-the-field incidents involving players.
McCoy sat down with Eyewitness News Sports Director Beasley Reece and also offered up his thoughts on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
"Being in that position, to have to handle so much, a lot of the decisions he has to make is very tough. I look at my position and what I do. I know it would be tough for Roger to play running back and make the wrong cut and get blasted by 300 pounders. The correlation ... as far as being in somebody's shoes to make the right decision, is hard," McCoy said.
McCoy was then asked about the recent off-the-field issues that have involved several high-profile players such as Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson.
"We're blessed to be here. I look at all the people I grew up with, the players that was maybe more talented than I was, didn't get the shot that I got to play in the NFL. That's almost every little kid's dream; to finally get here, make the type of money, play the type of game we love, kids looking up to you. It's like why not do things the right way? I think as a whole, us players, we can do better with the decisions we make," McCoy said.
