Legacy Parenting Project Holding Conference In Philadelphia

By Lynne Adkins

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Teen moms wanting to take their educations to the next level can attend a seminar on the information they need to succeed.

Monica Williams founded Legacy Parenting project because she was a teen mom and found few helpful resources. The parenting conference on May 25 at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott Hotel will feature agencies and groups aimed at helping young mothers succeed in college.

"The exhibitors and the vendors that we are going to have there are for the girls to create a support system—so for instance, housing, there will be representatives from the Office of Supportive Housing and HUD that will be there," said Williams.

There will also be workshops on time and money management and officials from various local colleges.

The event is free for any mother 21 and younger. To find out more about the program, visit: legacyparenting.org.
